It was a better than average saltwater fishing season and the fall run of false albacore was amazing, unfortunately these little tunny only show up for about 6 weeks between the middle of September and the beginning of November. Check out the pic below of my grandson with his first little tunny at only 4 years old!
There are still plenty of fresh water and tidal river fishing opportunities, Check out the latest fishing report!
November 2017 - My grandson Colton with his first Albie at 4 years old, not too shabby!
This one below was released quickly and measured 54" with a girth of 33" which according to the IGFA formula puts this fish at over 70lbs., and what makes this fish extra special is that it was caught in local CT waters in less than 10 feet of water!

The 62.5 lb. striped bass above was weighed in at the Block Island Boat Basin and caught by Heather Elser in less than 20 feet of water. Should have made it official as it could have been a women's world record!
